# Applications Open: A2AJ Student Innovation Grants
The Access to Algorithmic Justice Team is excited to announce that applications are now open for the A2AJ Student Innovation Grants Program!
The Opportunity
- $10,000 per project (5 grants available), supported by the Law Foundation of Ontario
- Using A2AJ's datasets of 116,000+ Canadian court decisions and 5,000+ statutes, build open-source tools that advance access to justice
- Application deadline: November 3, 2025
Who Can Apply
- Graduate students in any discipline and JD students, enrolled in Canadian universities
- Teams of 1–4 students (interdisciplinary partnerships encouraged)
- All applicants must be eligible to work in Canada
What We're Looking For
Projects that expand, enhance, or creatively use A2AJ datasets to tackle access to justice challenges. Think:
- Tools for legal clinics to extract insights from case law
- User interfaces that make legal data more accessible
- Automated summarization tools for legal documents
- Citation networks and semantic search systems
- Building a dataset of all public materials from a court or tribunal
