Osgoode JD RA: Legal Publishing & Technology

The Access to Algorithmic Justice Project (A2AJ) and the Journal of Law & Social Policy (JLSP) are seeking a JD student at Osgoode Hall Law School with an interest in leveraging technology to facilitate open access legal publication processes to join our team as a Student Research Assistant for the Fall and Winter terms of 2025–26.

About the Collaboration: A2AJ & JLSP

A2AJ is an interdisciplinary research initiative funded by the Law Foundation of Ontario, dedicated to advancing access to justice through the responsible development of artificial intelligence (AI) and open legal data infrastructure, with a focus on the needs of marginalized and low-income communities in Ontario.

Since its inception in 1985, the Journal of Law and Social Policy has been dedicated to fostering critical dialogue on the intersection of law and society, particularly as these impact low-income and disadvantaged communities, and with deep engagement with the clinical legal community. Access to justice is a central theme of our work. We have consistently championed scholarship that interrogates and challenges systemic inequities in law, policy, and practice, and we have placed the open and broad dissemination of knowledge at the centre of our activities.

Together, A2AJ and JLSP are developing technological and workflow innovations to enhance the efficiency, transparency, and impact of legal scholarship in Canada.
